Dublin Grades Series 2012

For over 60 years the Dublin Graded Meetings have provided athletes with Track and Field competition and this years series gets underway on Wednesday April 25th. in Morton Stadium. The longevity of the series has not diminished its popularity indeed over the last few years it has become a countrywide event with athletes from all corners of the island coming to compete.

Many in search of that sometimes elusive personal best but all enjoying a well organised meeting with entry fee pitched at a great value €8 per meeting. Graded competition caters for all levels and runners who have been traversing the roads in great numbers in recent times will find that the track is not such an intimidating place when competing at the right level.

On April 25th. a number of athletes seeking qualifying standards for the London Paralympicsl will be in action and High Performance Manager James Nolan is hopeful that some will be London bound later that evening. The inclusivity of these meetings  is evidenced by the regular attendance of paralympians.

On May 16th. the programme includes a 10000 Metres . Apart from the National Championships  the only 10000 run in Ireland and a race that has seen quite a few personal bests set in recent years. More that half of the Irish Top 20 performances for 2011 came in last years race.

The veneus are spread between Morton and Irishtown Stadiums and full details are available on www.dublinathletics.com
